U12s Norfolk League vs Gt Yarmouth - 34:30 Win

Our u12 team managed to secure back to back wins in the Norfolk League this Saturday, in an end to end thriller at Sportspark.

The team have developed so much since their first game against Beccles back in November, and we are excited with what they can do as a group moving forward.

We look to take this momentum in a re-match with Iceni on Saturday.

Another fantastic day showcasing the progression that Hoopstars are making across all age groups - 2 teams entered at U11s, U13s & U15s and 1 team entered at U18s.

All players & coaches did excellently and we are always so proud of the effort, team work and behaviour of our players at these events. A really great opportunity to display what being a Hoopstars member is all about.

Despite some tough losses we can take learning points from each and come back stronger next time.

U11s - 2 wins, 4 losses

U13s - 4 losses

U12s Norfolk League - Saturday 28th January - Away vs Norfolk Iceni @ 5.15pm

U9s / U11s HBL - Sunday 29th January - Hellesdon High School - 12.15pm to 4pm

Last week a young local girl, Amber Sheehy, passed away from cancer 1 hour before her 9th birthday. Amber was a fighter having already beaten the disease before, with it returning last year and being told it was terminal.

Amber’s family are known to us at HQ and one of our young players was one of Amber’s best friends at school. We wanted to show our support to them all, so on Saturday we held a 1 minute “Clap for Amber” tribute before our U12 Norfolk League game.

We have also donated the match fees for this game to the charity set up by Amber’s family, Amber’s Army, which aims to support families in similar situations to be able to make special memories with their children in the short time they may have.

We will be celebrating the 2022 / 2023 season before the summer, and we would love for as many of our members / families to join us in doing so.

It will be an evening of food, awards and fun!

A reminder that all of our members should have a player licence and cannot compete in any competitions without this.

 HOW TO GET A LICENCE:

If you haven’t had a licence before:

• You are required to become a member of Basketball England, which is free of charge, which you can do here. Please ensure that you complete the player’s details not parents.

• Please ensure that you add a photograph of the player, without a photo, this will not be processed.

• Once you become member, you need to add a “local league licence” – the prices are

  • U18’s - £9.50

  • Seniors - £16.50

• Add Norfolk Hoopstars as the club affiliated to – our CA number is CA5160
