Saturday 30th September:

U12 Red vs Norwich Eagles - 12:80 - LOSS

The scoreline in this match doesn’t represent the hard work, determination and progression that our youngest performance team showed in this match. Hustling until the final whistle this team did not stop at either end of the court and really worked on their offensive plays and defensive positioning. Supporters all commented on the growth that happened before our eyes and we were so proud of players and coaches alike.

U14 NBL vs Southend Scorpians II - 69:39 - WIN

A convincing win from our U14 squad who are going from strength to strength. Some incredible teamwork and strong defence meant that the Southend Scorpians were never able to compete at the same level.

Sunday 1st October:

U16 NBL vs West Suffolk Wolves - 79:60 - WIN

A delayed start and with only 1 referee our U16 squad managed to make the best of a bad situation and claim the win in a difficult match. The team were able to put aside the issues they faced and what may not have been the best of matches still provides a well deserved win.

U18 Norfolk League vs Cromer Crabs Adults - Pre-season - 51:53 - LOSS

An amazing result for our newest team who looked so unified against one of the local men’s team. The difference in the way the team were playing and working together was amazing to see and we feel that this team will just continue to grow. And to only lose by 2 to an adult team is an amazing result.

HBL

Round 2 in our U9, U11 and U13 HBL was fantastic to see, with everyone receiving their brand new team tshirts meaning they could play without bibs! And look fantastic whilst doing so!

We have been advised that the first Norfolk Youth Basketball League (NYBL) tournament will take place this weekend on Saturday 7th October.

We are aware this is very short notice but we will do all that we can to get our teams entered. Below are the expected timings per age group (TBC):

• U11 - 3 teams (2 boys, 1 girls) - 8.45am until 11.15am

• U13 - 2 mixed teams - 11.30am until 2pm

• U15 - 2 mixed teams - 2pm until 5pm (may not go ahead for the 1st tournament and begin in November)

We will confirm the exact times that players need to be there in due course.

Our selection pools for the teams will be as below:

• U11s (year 5 & 6) - U12 Norfolk league teams, U11 HBL, Hub members

• U13s (year 7 & 8) - U12 performance teams, U13 HBL, Hub members

• U15s (year 9 & 10) - U15 HBL, Hub members

The dates for all of the NYBL tournaments are below:

NYBL Expression of Interest

The deadline for entries is Wednesday 4th October by 12pm; we will make selections no later than 5pm on Wednesday 4th October. Please sign up promptly to ensure your child is included.

As we move through the first term back at our hub sessions we are bringing our attention to the next school holiday! October Half Term break will be here before you know it!

Below are the dates of our holiday camp days:

• 23rd October - Year 1 - Year 6

• 24th October - Year 1 - Year 6

• 25th October - Year 7 - Year 13

• 26th October - Year 7 - Year 13

Our camp days run from 9am until 3.30pm at City Academy and cost £30 per day. The days are a mixture of skill stations, mini games and match time. We aim for each player to have some take aways from the camp days whilst also having lots of fun.

There will be opportunities to get medals and certificates and each player will receive a free tshirt.

Following the success of the BBL finals trip to O2 last year we will be putting on another trip this year and the tickets are out already.

BBL Finals - London O2 - Sunday 19th May 2024

The tickets will include return coach travel from City Academy Norwich to O2 and entry to both the Womens & Men finals.

The day is always a lot of fun and the atmosphere is unreal! A real treat to show our members what can be achieved playing basketball in England.

At this stage we would like an expression of interest of how many tickets you would like - no payment will be required yet.

We expect the prices to be similar to last year which were as below however we cannot confirm until we have an idea of numbers and so are subject to change:

• £52.50 - child ticket

• £62.50 - adult ticket
