U12s NBL vs Southend 1 - 32:62 Loss

Our strongest performance to date against a team who previously beat us by 50 points. We kept them to exactly the same score and more than doubled ours. Our defence was solid and we had some fantastic offensive plays.

U12s NBL vs Brentwood Fire 1 - 8:100 Loss

A tough game against a very big and strong team. It was clear to see these players had been playing together a while and we struggled to bring through the defence from the day before.

Whilst losses like today can be difficult to take, we will move forward and use it to make us even stronger. The team is really united and we have areas we will take in to training this week and next, ahead of the next fixture on 28th January.

U13s / U15s / U18s HBL

Another great afternoon of basketball for our older age groups.

An U13 tournament saw some lovely team play between players from all of our hubs. Excellent sportmanshsip and team work throughout the matches.

Our U15/U18 matches went down to the wire with nailbiting finishes in both. Again it was lovely to see players from all hubs coming together. We are seeing such improvement in the game play, team work and sportmanship from all of the players since our first HBL back in October.

Hoopstars Women Vs Iceni Devils 79-21 Win

The womens team added another win to their undefeated season, showcasing excellent offensive and defensive plays. A really enjoyable game to end the weekend, with lots for us to work on over the following month, ahead of our next match on 19th February.

A reminder that the next date for NYBL is on Sunday 22nd January.

The NYBL tournamnets are a monthly programme run by the Norfolk Basketball Assocation. Hoopstars enter 2 teams per age group for U11s, U13s, U15s, and 1 team for U18s. We make the selection for the teams we enter based on performances by our players at HBL & hub sessions, with feedback from Hoopstars Coaches.

Selection for these squads will be sent out no later than 9am on Tuesday 17th January.

NYBL - Sunday 22nd January - Sportspark - All age groups across the entire day.
