Easter Camp

Week 2 of camp saw us fill another 2 days with a mixture of our existing members and some new faces. We had a lovely couple of days and below are our award winners from the 2 days.

U12 Norfolk League vs Gt Yarmouth 70:33 Loss

A tough loss against a strong Gt Yarmouth side after the Easter break meant that our players seemed to be a bit tired and rusty.

With 1 match left we are looking forward to finishing season on a high!

Hoopstars Women vs Cambridge Cats Away 64:52 WIN

A fantastic performance from our women which secured us the league win in our first season in the Norfolk Local League.

We are so proud of the whole team and have absolutely loved playing together this season.

A huge shout out to our loyal supporters who have been with us every step of the way and made a massive difference to each match

Saturday 22nd April - NYBL

U11s, U13s & U15s

Team selections will be sent out by 12pm on Monday 17th April.

Unfortunately we haven’t heard anything further about the league for U18s this season so it is looking unlikely that this will be happening so we will focus on HBL and next season for this age group.

Sunday 23rd April - HBL

U15s & U18s

We currently have enough players for 1 game. We will be finalising teams on Tuesday 18th April so the deadline for sign ups will be Monday 17th April @ 9pm so please complete the form here asap.

A reminder that hub sessions begin back from tomorrow apart from Hethersett and Norwich School which won’t be running this half term due to exams and bookings in the school halls. Hellesdon sessions will run from Sportspark.

For the next season (Sept 2023 to April 2024) we will be entering performance teams in the following leagues:

U12 Norfolk League Mixed (School years 5 - 7)

U12 NBL Mixed (School years 6 - 7)

U14 NBL Boys (School years 8 - 9)

U16 NBL Men (School years 10 - 11)

U18 Norfolk League Mixed (School years 12 - 13)

*The school year refers to which school year your child will be from Sept 2023.

We will be hosting trials for these teams on Sunday 21st May @ City Academy Norwich, at the times below:

10am - 11.30am - U12

11.30am - 1pm - U14

1pm - 2.30pm - U16

2.30pm - 4pm - U18

If you would like to sign your child up to trial for one of the performance teams please complete the form linked here by Monday 15th May. The fee for trials is £7 per player and will be due on Monday 15th May.

N.B. If you would like your child to trial but they are unable to attend this date please complete the form and the reason why in the notes section and we will make contact with you directly to discuss this.

N.B. We will continue to have opportunities for competitive matches for members outside of our performance teams such as HBL and NYBL.

LAST FEW SPACES AVAILABLE:

We have some extra tickets available for the BBL playoff finals at the O2 on Sunday 14th May 2023.

This will be such a fun day with 2 matches - the womens final followed by the mens final. It is also a great showcase of the best of basketball in Britain and will provide a lot of inspiration to our members. We have been a couple of times and have always loved it.

Prices for the trip will be as below and will include the coach trip and entrance ticket:

Adults - £62.50

Children (up to 18) - £52.50

We have been able to extend the tickets for our awards evening.

This event is open for anyone who is part of Hoopstars as well as their families and is an event for all ages. There will be a sit down buffet, games, a DJ. All members will receive a certificate .

We will be giving out some awards to members who attend our community hubs, Hoopz SEND session, Home Education sessionand our Performance teams (NBL, U12 Norfolk League & Women’s team).
