A brilliant match from both teams to showcase what Norfolk basketball is all about with our squad unable to keep hold of the lead in the final seconds.

U14 NBL vs Kings Lynn - 75:69 - WIN

A great win for the U14s in another fantastic match where the teamwork of our squad secured the win.

UEA Panthers Women vs Bromsgrove Bears - 65:54 - WIN

A convincing win for the women who lost to this team in the away match.

UEA Panthers Men vs Cambridge Cats - 77:107 - LOSS

A difficult match for the men against a very strong squad.

UEA Panthers Womens vs Sheffield Hatters - 41:85 - LOSS

The women can be really proud of themselves for a brilliant scoreline against the unbeaten Hatters. The team did not give up and played brilliantly until the final whistle.

Tuesday 19th March

UEA Panthers Men vs ARU - 83:74 - WIN

A fantastic end to the NBL season for the men saw them get a win in a brilliant match. An emotional match for a few of the players who will be leaving Norwich before the start of the next season.

Wednesday 20th March

UEA Panthers Men vs Nottingham 2s - WIN

Another emotional match with it being the last BUCS match for a number of players - and what a way to finish the BUCS season! A close match with the Panthers able to secure the win.

Saturday 23rd March

U12 NBL vs Bedford Thunder - 70:78 - LOSS

Despite an excellent 4th quarter come back the team were unable to secure the win. The last fixture of the season for this squad where they can be proud of what they have achieved and the growth they have shown.

A brilliant last day of our Term 2 HBL; it has been a fantastic term watching all of our players develop individually and as part of their teams.

Mixed Adults I vs UEA Panthers - 83:49 - WIN

A fantastic win for the team in front a big crowd.

A reminder that our hub sessions are on this week for Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday. After Wednesday there are no Hub sessions until after the Easter school break.

Performance programme sessions will continue during the Easter break.

We are so proud of Norfolk Hoopstars Founder & Director, Claire Harper-Black who has been selected to be Heach Coach of the England U16 girls team who will be competing in the Four Nations tournament in Dublin on Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th March.

The schedule of the matches is below:

Hoopstars HQ will be on reduced staff for the next few days as both Amy Harper-Black and Amy Arthurton will be in Dublin to support Claire and the England team. We will be sharing live updates on Instagram so make sure you follow along.

Another fantastic announcement as we welcome Mia Johannes to Hoopstars HQ as our first ever apprentice. We are so proud to be able to offer a career path that is an alternative to further education.

Mia is completing a Level 3 Community Sport & Health Officer apprenticeship whcih is a recogniseed qualification with The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA).

Mia will combine her studies with time both in the office as well as coaching many of our basketball sessions.

We are really proud of how well Mia has settled in to her new role and are excited to see what the future holds for her.

We will continue to offer apprenticeships; at this stage we can only host 1 apprentice at any time but will be looking to develop this further in the future.

We are excited to announce that the next season at Hoopstars is going to be even bigger and better than this season with the following performance teams being entered:

• 1 x U12 All Girls in Norfolk League

• 2 x U12 in Norfolk League

• 1 x U12 in NBL

• 2 x U14 in NBL

• 2 x U16 in NBL

• 1 x U18 in NBL

The age group eligibility is as below:

• U12 in 2024/2025 - Years 5, 6 & 7 in September 2024.

• U14 in 2024 / 2025 – Years 8 & 9 in September 2024

• U16 in 2024/2025 – Years 10 & 11 in September 2024

• U18 in 2024/2025 - Years 12 & 13 in September 2024

This season we will be hosting a 2-trial date process whereby we will be inviting everyone along to the first date and then selections will be made for the 2nd date where we will finalise the squads. The fee for the trial is £7 per trial session. This also allows people who might not be available on 1 of the dates to still be able to attend. The trials will be held across 2 courts with multiple performance team coaches and Claire overseeing the process. The trial dates and times are below:

Trial Date 1- Saturday 18th May:

• U12s Norfolk league & NBL @ 11am until 12.30pm

• U12s All Girls @ 3.30pm until 5pm (only on 1 date)

• U14s NBL @ 12.30pm until 2pm

• U16s NBL @ 2pm until 3.30pm

• U18s NBL @ 3.30pm - 5pm (only on 1 date)

Trial Date 2 - Sunday 26th May:

• U12s Norfolk League & NBL – 9am until 10:30am

• U14s NBL – 10.30am until 12pm

• U16s NBL - 12pm until 1.30pm

We will be hosting an information webinar for everyone on Saturday 6th April @ 7pm. If you are unavailable for this, it will be recorded and circulated. We found this useful for our parents last season as they were able to give a lot of information about the next season of performance programme as well as answering any questions.
