U11 Blacks - 3 Wins; 1 Loss

U11 Reds - 2 Wins; 2 Losses

U11 All Girls - 3 Wins; 1 Loss

U13s Blacks - 0 Wins; 2 Losses

U13s Reds - 2 Wins; 0 Losses

A special mention to Jalen, Nell and Youssef who each received one of the tournament MVP awards for the U11 age group.

UEA Panthers Mens 1 vs Northampton Mavericks - 83:60 - Win

A comfortable win for the men to finish off 2023.

U15s vs Beccles Bombers - Loss

An opportunity for our U15 players who aren’t getting to play in NYBL to have a friendly match against a tough Beccles team. The team has lots to work on ahead of the next match in the new year.

Hoopstars Women vs Iceni Devils - 92:25 - Win

Our women’s squad remain undefeated at the end of 2023.

U18s Norfolk League vs Bury St Edmunds - 70:49 - Win

This squad ended the season positively with a convincing win over the Bury side.

Hoopstars Mixed Adults 2 vs Dereham Bucks - 50:54 - Loss

A tough defeat for the 2nd team who worked tirelessly but just couldn’t hold on to the win. But as always lots of progression was made.

We are so excited for our Christmas camps to begin tomorrow. It isn’t too late to book on. The dates are below:

• Thursday 21st December - Y1 to Y6

• Friday 22nd December - Y7 to Y13 - FULLY BOOKED

• Tuesday 2nd January - Y1 to Y6 - FULLY BOOKED

• Wednesday 3rd January - Y7 to Y13

Our camp days are a fun mixture of skills stations, mini competitions and always finish with a match. Attendees have the opportunity to win certificates and medals.

We are really pleased to partner up with BNHF and Active Norfolk to be able to provide free spaces, with lunch included, on the camp days for children eligible for free school meals

If your child isn’t eligible for a free space the fee is £30 per day and includes a free camp tshirt - what colour will they be this time?! We are also offering attendees the option of being provided lunch for a fee of £5.

Following the completion of Term 1 of our new and improved HBL, we have reflected on what has and hasn’t worked well and made some adjustments heading into Term 2.

Our Hoopstars Basketball League (HBL) is a great opportunity for our players to get some game time and is all about development and having fun. Even if your child has only attended 1 session they will love these tournaments so please go ahead and sign them up.

Our U9s and U11s age groups will continue in the league format, however we are hoping to increase the number of teams in U9s to utilise 2 across- courts running at the same time, with our fantastic youngest members. Our U11s will change to be a full court match for each team. Our U9s and U11s will receive a team t-shirt to wear for each tournament. The coaches will referee the games as they are coaching.

Our U13s & U15s/U18s will revert back to our previous version whereby we have 1 match a month with members signing up on a pay & play basis. We will have referees at these matches to ensure they run smoothly and allowing our coaches to focus on the teams. We won’t be providing team t-shirts as each tournement we will mix up the teams.

In the image below are the dates and times for all age groups as well as the location which will predominantly be at City Academy.

The fees are listed below:

U9s / U11s - £36 per term (we recomend players are available for at least 3 dates)

U13s & U15s/U18s - £7 per match

This will be our last newsletter before Christmas so we wanted to take the opportunity to wish all of our wonderful members a Merry Christmas. We hope you all have a fantastic few days and get to spend it with family and friends.
