We are delighted to share the outstanding achievements of our teams at the recent NYBL Finals. It was a weekend filled with thrilling games, determined performances, and incredible display of teamwork. We couldn't be prouder of our players and coaches for their hard work and dedication throughout the season.

In the under 11 category, both our Hoopstars Black and Hoopstars Red teams showcased their talent and resilience. Hoopstars Red faced a formidable Kings Lynn team in the plate final, demonstrating immense determination throughout the game. Although they narrowly missed out on victory with a score of 38-15, they showed incredible spirit by winning three games on the day to reach the final. We commend their unwavering effort and congratulate them on being plate runner-ups.

Our Hoopstars Black team had an impressive journey to the cup final, overcoming challenges along the way. After a 1-1 record in pool play, they secured a spot in the final by defeating Beccles Bombers 28-15 in the semi-final. The cup final against BBITC was a nail-biting affair, with both teams giving their all. In an exhilarating end-to-end battle, Hoopstars Black emerged victorious with a close 22-20 scoreline, claiming the cup championship! We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the team for their outstanding achievement.

Special recognition goes to Lucas G, who was awarded the tournament finals MVP. Lucas, your exceptional contributions on the court are a testament to your skill and dedication. We are incredibly proud of you!

Moving on to our under 13 Red team, they displayed exceptional teamwork and determination throughout the season. They secured a spot in the finals after defeating Great Yarmouth A 28-14 in the semi-final. Although they faced a strong BBITC team in the final, they showcased their skills and resilience, ultimately claiming a well-deserved silver medal. We commend their efforts and applaud their growth and development throughout the NYBL tournaments.

Our under 15 Black team, composed of our U14 NBL squad, also achieved remarkable success. They battled their way to the final by defeating Great Yarmouth A 26-15 in a hard-fought semi-final match. While they faced a tough challenge against an experienced BBITC team in the final, they showcased tremendous determination and tenacity, earning a silver medal. We celebrate their achievements and recognize the progress they have made in their first season as a team.

To all players and coaches involved in the NYBL season, we extend our sincerest congratulations on your outstanding performances and achievements. Your hard work, dedication, and growth throughout the season have been truly inspiring.

We would also like to express our gratitude to all the parents, supporters, and volunteers who have contributed to our success. Your unwavering support and encouragement are invaluable to the growth and development of our players.

BBL Finals

We were treated to a display of skill, passion, and determination as the London Lions and Leicester Riders battled it out for the coveted titles. Our players, parents, and coaches were in awe as they watched the elite athletes in action, closely observing their strategies and appreciating the level of dedication required to compete at this high level.

The atmosphere within the arena was electric, with passionate fans from across the country coming together to support their teams. The cheers, chants, and applause reverberated throughout, creating an unforgettable experience for all.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the London Lions, who claimed victory in both the men's and women's finals. Their exceptional performances served as an inspiration to our players, motivating them to work even harder and strive for greatness in their own basketball journeys.

As we reflect on this remarkable experience, we are reminded of the power of basketball to bring people together, ignite passion, and foster a sense of community. It is events like these that fuel our collective love for the game and drive us to continue growing and improving as individuals and as a team.

U12s - 9.15am to 10.45am @ Sportspark, UEA

U14s - 11.30am to 1pm @ City Academy Norwich

U16s - 1pm to 2.30pm @ City Academy Norwich

U18s - 2.30pm to 4pm @ City Academy Norwich

All emails have been sent to those players who have signed up for trials so if you haven’t received the email please let us know.

We also want to wish all of our players attending trials on Saturday 20th May for the Norfolk County Teams for age groups U13s, U15s and U17s.

It won’t be long before the next half term holiday is upon us and we are expecting another fantastic week at camp. Below are the dates / age groups:

Tuesday 30th & Wednesday 31st May - Years 1 - 6

Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd June - Years 7 - 13

The camp days cost £30 per day per child and includes a free tshirt. The camp is at City Academy Norwich.

We have been progressing the plans for our Awards Evening and it is looking like its going to be an amazing evening. We are getting so excited and hope you all want to join us.

This event is open for anyone who is part of Hoopstars as well as their families and is an event for all ages. There will be a sit down buffet, games, a DJ. All members will receive a certificate .

We will be giving out some awards to members who attend our community hubs, Hoopz SEND session and our Performance teams (NBL, U12 Norfolk League & Women’s team).

We are so excited to announce the newest member of Hoopstars HQ - Ken Lei. Ken has been part of the Hoopstars coaching team since January and has now joined us full time, splitting his time between coaching and project management.

Ken will be helping us to progress our programmes specifically launching our 3 x 3 tournaments, building on our existing schools programmes and making our website even bigger and better.

We are already so proud of what Ken has achieved and cannot wait to see what else he can bring to Team Hoopstars.
