Hoopstars Summer Slam Camp

We have now completed the 5 weeks of our Summer Slam and it was a massive success!

We had 25 camp days available including 3 x All Girls days and 3 x SEND days. Out of the 696 spaces available across the 5 weeks we had 614 spaces booked (88% of available spaces) and 550 spaces attended (79% of available spaces). We were so pleased to partner up with the Big Norfolk Holiday Fund again and offer free spaces to so many children - 206 spaces were attended through this scheme (38% of spaces attended).

We saw 285 different children across the 5 weeks; 62 were female (22% of attendees). 122 children attended through the BNHF scheme (43% of attendees).

We provided both hot and cold lunches this summer through the BNHF scheme and are delighted that 128 lunches were made across the 5 weeks of camp days.

We have received so much lovely feedback about the camp days and have seen so many happy faces at the end of each day - it has made the whole summer such a lovely experience.

We wanted to take the opportunity to thank our amazing coaches, HQ team and volunteers for all of the hard work that has gone into this summer programme:

We weren’t able to get a photo with everyone together but here we are at the end of our final day on Friday - tired but happy!

After the tremendous success of our previous 3x3 series, we're back with an even bigger event, and this time, it's open to everyone including the public! Whether you're an aspiring young basketball talent or a seasoned player, come and showcase your skills on the court.

We are very proud that 2 of our coaches / players are heading off to pastures new. Lennie Johannes & Henry Bowles will be leaving Norfolk next week to go to Myerscough Basketball Academy in Preston for their further education and development of basketball at one of the best basketball academies in England.

We are experiencing a mixture of emotions at them leaving, but wish them both the very best of luck as they embark on the next chapter of their lives. This is an excellent opportunity for them and shows what you can achieve when you work hard and put in the effort required at something you love.

We are looking forward to seeing them both again during October Half term and hearing all about their experiences - lets hope they can bring back some new tips and skills to share with us all.

Get ready for an electrifying season of basketball action with our revamped Hoopstars Basketball League (HBL)!

This year, we're taking the game to the next level, enhancing the player experience and building an even stronger sense of team camaraderie. Here's a sneak peek into the new format:

Each term features 6 action-packed competition weeks per age group, giving players the perfect stage to showcase their skills and compete at their best. But that's not all – our players will be assigned to teams, sporting their vibrant team-colored T-shirts, and diving into the exhilaration of being part of a united squad for the entire term. Sticking together fosters a deep sense of belonging, allowing players to evolve, learn, and create lasting bonds.

Our age groups span U9, U11, U13, and U15 & U18, ensuring an exciting range of competition and fun for every skill level. We're doubling the thrill with two tournament terms, each featuring 6 epic tournament dates. The cost? Just £36 per term! Term 1 runs from September to December, and Term 2 from January to March.

The deadline for sign ups is Saturday 16th September - if you have already signed up we will be sending out confirmations in the next few days.

The HBL's goal is to give players at every Community Hub the chance to play, learn, and enjoy matches. From these tournaments, we'll select players for each age group to represent Norfolk Hoopstars in the Norfolk Youth Basketball League (NYBL).

We have gathered a lot of lost property over the last year and it has tripled over the summer. If any of the pictured items belongs to you please email us to claim it and we will ensure it gets returned. If items aren’t claimed by 15th September we will be giving to charity / disposing of items.
